Passing our heritage to the next generation.
Ahiska Turks Cultural Center in Wheaton, Illinois keeps the culture, language, faith and values of the Ahiska Turkish and wider Turkish community alive.
A place to belong
Our center was founded by volunteers from the Turkish community who wanted a place where families could come together, where children could learn who they are, and where neighbors of every background could get to know Turkish culture.
That spirit of volunteering still carries everything we do. We serve families across Wheaton, DuPage County and the western suburbs of Chicago.

Four things we work for
Education first
Through Weekend School, the Youth Guidance program and Friday Club we offer Qur’an and Islamic studies, values education, mentoring, sports and creative activities.
Preserving our heritage
We teach and celebrate the Turkish language, the history of the Ahiska Turks, and our traditions, food and holidays.
Building community
We bring families together through gatherings, picnics, trips and cultural and religious events throughout the year.
Being good neighbors
We help our community feel at home in American society while keeping its identity, and we welcome everyone who wants to learn about Turkish culture.
We want every child in our community to grow up confident in their identity, strong in character and ready to contribute to the society they live in.

Sincerity, respect and openness
We want our center to be a second home for Ahiska Turkish and Turkish American families in the Chicago area, and a bridge of friendship between cultures.
Our programs are run by dedicated volunteers and supported by the generosity of our community.
